On Tuesday, April 8th, as part of our eTwinning project, we came together with our partners from Turkey, Serbia, Romania, Greece, and Poland through the ESEP platform. During this online meeting, we decided to choose a traditional game that would offer children an enjoyable and educational experience. Together, we selected Five Stones, a game that carries traces of the past and is an important part of cultural heritage.
Following our decision, all partners played the game with their students and uploaded their activities to ESEP by April 19th. For the children in Turkey, the game was somewhat familiar from the past, but they still faced a few challenges while playing. This, however, allowed them to recall memories from their childhood while also developing their motor skills. For the partner countries, it was a completely new experience. Their students were excited to learn a traditional game from another culture and enjoyed the learning process while sharing it with their classmates.
This activity once again highlighted the value of traditional games and helped build a cultural bridge among children from different countries. It was a wonderful example of learning through play — one game, five countries, and countless smiles!
